Sky Full of Dreams, the aviation biography of Bruce K. Hallock, is now available on Amazon.com. Bruce K. Hallock was a pilot, aeronautical engineer, and aircraft designer and builder. The book chronicles his life with an emphasis on his aeronautical activities, from award-winning aero-modeler to corporate pilot, consultant, and designer. As a young engineer working at Wright Field at the outbreak of WWII, Hallock participated in the testing of many military aircraft. During the later part of the war, he became a Navy flier, eventually piloting PBMs and R4Ds. After the war, he operated a flying service, did some adventurous flying in Latin America, and finally become an executive pilot with an interesting passenger list (including presidents). He remained a passionate private pilot throughout his career.
In parallel with these exploits, Hallock designed and built three tailless airplanes. Each of his concepts offered innovative approaches to specific aeronautical challenges, and the book provides details and insight into these designs. While the basic biographical information is present, the book’s emphasis remains on the airplanes Hallock flew and created, and the dreams that animated his life. The book is rich in technical detail and is also interspersed with anecdotes and tales of adventure. The text is supplemented by over 100 photos and drawings. The book is fully indexed.
